One Step Closer

In this section we highlight our mistakes and failures while building Mini Titans. When your willing to take a risk to put yourself out into the world it will lead to criticism and it can lead to opportunities. You don't get to choose what happens to you but you do get to choose how you respond. This is our failures and mistakes and what we learned or the opportunities that followed. How will your climb look?

Question gone wrong with someone who I admire

Thank you Chris Voss, Neil Strauss and new contact Jay Kalryzian

I was attending a question and answer period with author Chris Voss who wrote the book never split the difference (which I read once a year) and author Neil Strauss who been an incredible example on building relationships. I had the opportunity of asking them a question live. I was battling a head cold and debated even asking a question. I then decided that my question was important enough to ask, so as I posted it into the chat I thought the moderator would just ask for me. I was call on to be on live camera where I struggled to find the words and completely blew my question. What I wanted to ask was how do we support kids when making mistakes. Instead I asked in short how do we get kids to make mistakes and mature faster. As I got a good response I didn't position the question well enough to get the answer I knew what coming that it was immoral to try and make kids mature faster. After a few minutes of me back tracking and trying to find my footing, I ran out of time. There was some great bit's of information from Neil and Chris.

Later that morning someone reached out to me with a picture of a screen shot asking if it was me who asked the question. I turns out he runs a wonderful program that helps the relationships between dad's and kids. We started a conversation met the next day and then 2 days later I was attending his podcast where we had a great conversation and have since built a partnership. If I listened to my head cold I would've never asked a botched question and had the wonderful opportunity that came after.
